Welcome to the Piano by Ear book/CD series! Previous experience? You just need enough piano technique under your belt to play chords with your left hand and single notes with your right hand—all at a relaxed tempo if you like. Beyond that, you just need a basic understanding of treble and bass clef so that you can read the written examples. (By the way, adults who haven't played since they were kids do fine!)

As for equipment, you just need a CD player with headphones next to your piano or keyboard. A portable CD player will do the job!
